An important precaution to start feeding winter fodder

In the last few posts, we read that summer fodder is low in protein and high in energy but in contrast, winter fodder is high in protein and low in energy. Green fodder is deficient in October-November and due to the maturity of fodder, it is low in protein. If the fodder is not harvested on time, only 3-4% protein remains in the 12% protein fodder.

In those days, the second case is that due to the lack of green fodder, the animals are fed large quantities of broken straw, straw, millet and corn stalks. These things contain only 4-3% protein. This means that many small farmers' animals are eating less nutritious and fewer protein foods these days. In such a situation, the microscopic creatures of the animal's stomach adapt themselves to such fodder, but as soon as they are fed green and high protein fodder such as lozenges, mustard and especially alfalfa, the animal becomes dangerous and incurable. May be infected

This problem can occur in animals with low protein and dry fodder from 4 days to 10 days after eating green and protein-rich fodder. Green and high-protein fodder contain a protein component (amino acid) called tryptophan, which is a toxic chemical found in the stomachs of animals that eat dry fodder. 3-methyl-indole (3-MI) I can change In small amounts, the body of the animal tolerates this toxic chemical, but if the amount of this chemical is increased in the stomach, it reaches the lungs and causes severe damage to them.

The important thing to remember is that  The bacteria that make up this chemical are found in large numbers in the stomachs of dry and low-protein fodder-eating animals, and as soon as they receive high levels of protein, they can produce large amounts of toxic chemicals.
This chemical affects the lungs so the symptoms of the disease are similar to pneumonia !!
Difficulty breathing/pulling and breathing The animal stands to try to sit, but cannot because of pneumonia and pain. Cough, cold, runny nose and runny nose more foam falling from the mouthIsolation of animals, slowing down and reducing food intake most of the time the temperature of the animal remains normal and there is no fever, and if there is then the fever in cows and buffaloes is up to 103 but there are symptoms mentioned above

Some animals recover on their own in a day or two and do not suffer much from this problem, but in some animals, this problem becomes severe and can be fatal. However, all animals are being given the same food. If 100 animals have a farm and are eating dry fodder and similarly good protein green fodder is started at once, then 50 animals can get sick and 30 animals can die from this disease.

Because the chemical affects the lungs, it can cause pneumonia and respiratory illness. No cure has been found for this disease that can eliminate this toxic chemical. God forbid if this problem occurs in animals then there is no medicine, no vaccine, drip bottle, no cure. And if the animal gets this disease, the animal can die in 6-8 hours.
Therefore, precaution is the only cure!
"Animals can be infected if they are eating low protein food, fodder and are given good protein fodder at once."
Always try to take 10-12 days to completely replace the new fodder, start with small amounts and gradually change the diet so that the microscopic creatures of the stomach can adapt to this change. This disease is called Fog Fever. In Pakistan, it is also called winter fever. Fog is called fog. Fog has nothing to do with this disease. Fog (foggage, fog) is also called forage. That is why this disease is called fog fever With a little precaution, this disease can be completely prevented
Do not change the fodder all at once, change the fodder you are using slowly with the new fodder and it must be 10 days till the new fodder is completely replaced.
The disease is dangerous but the precaution is very small not to change the winter fodder all at once.
