Protein and energy components in animal feeds

A few days ago we read that a balanced animal diet has six components.

Protein

Carbohydrate

Fat, Salts/Minerals

Vitamins/Vitamins

 . Water

Protein

Apart from bones, the major component of the animal body/meat is protein. The animal also secretes a good amount of protein in milk. Protein is the second largest component of blood after water. An animal's natural disease-fighting ability/immunity is also due to protein. A deficiency of protein slows down the animal's growth, weakens the animal, and reduces production

The ratio of protein in the diet depends on age and production. Cow starter contains up to 20% protein, dry animal feed contains 12% and dairy feed contains 16-18% protein, it should be in the complete feed ration, not in the feed. Too much protein is not good for the animal, and the cost also increases.  A more detailed post on this will follow soon, this is just an introductory post on protein

Energy

Energy is required for every function in the body. Energy is needed for the growth of the baby during pregnancy, to move, eat, breathe, and function the liver, kidneys, lungs, and all other organs.

Energy to make milk

This means the energy required for survival, energy requirement also depends on the animal's age, fertility, physical condition, pregnancy, drought, and weather severity. Energy/energy in food is supplied from two sources Starchy ingredients/carbohydrates

Fat/oil components

Many times we just add khalo and think that the need is met, khalo is good for protein but low in energy. Summer forages are high in energy but low in protein, while winter forages are high in protein but low in energy.
