Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – July 20, 2025 – Prince Al-Waleed bin Khalid Al-Saud, known as the "Sleeping Prince," has died at 36 after spending two decades in a coma following a tragic car crash in London. The Saudi royal family confirmed his passing in an emotional tribute on social media.

A Tragic Accident and a 20-Year Struggle

In 2005, 15-year-old Prince Al Waleed suffered severe injuries—including a brain hemorrhage and internal bleeding in a devastating car accident while studying at a military college in London. He was transferred to King Abdul Aziz Medical City in Riyadh, where he remained on life support, never regaining full consciousness.

A Father’s Unwavering Hope

His father, Prince Khaled bin Talal Al Saud, never gave up on his son’s recovery, refusing to withdraw life support despite the long odds. In a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter), he shared a Quranic verse and mourned his beloved son, saying: "With hearts believing in Allah’s will and decree, we mourn our beloved Prince Al-Waleed."

Funeral Arrangements

Funeral prayers will be held at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh. The royal family has requested privacy during this difficult time.
